Fundraiser for JPProject is a big success

Fundraiser for JPProject is a big success

On Saturday 21st, Will, Harry and Ed held a fundraiser at Berkhamsted school to raise money for the Joshua playing Project. They needed £3000 to run the school for this year, but after an amazing evening they managed to raise just over £5000.

Some of the kids drawings sold in the auction for £75 to the girls in the image above. JPP would like to say a big THANK YOU to anyone that has supported and donated!

With this extra money there are some exciting new things on the horizon for JPP. One posibility is to help sponsor more of the kids to private school and then hopefully on to college. Another opportunity is to help Mukesh (the manager of the school) with an orphan girl that he has taken under his wing. Stay tuned to see more JPP progress.

Joshua Playing Project was set up in October 2010 to give street children in Pushkar, Northern India, an alternative to a life on the streets.
In India it is very common for children to be sent out by their parents or by their own accord to beg from both tourists and locals. Many are subjected to abuse, violence and nearly all of them experience situations which no children should.

The Project, lead by Harry Hurd, Edd Ferneyhough and Will Toogood provides street kids the opportunity for and education, lunch and most importantly care!

Qwerk have donated a laptop to help these kids learn, but there is a lot more work needed. If there is anything you can do to contribute it would be hugely appreciated. For more information please click the link below, or phone Will at Qwerk.

Thank you, in anticipation  |  JPProject Website

Here are some additional photos of the Gonzalez Byass stand at the London International Wine Fair 2011.  Some of the materials incorporated in the stand were stainless steel, solid oak, lacquered plywood, light-box graphics and a lot of wine, making this stand great fun to design and build.
